Ty2/Ty42 - freight locomotive the construction of the German (Standard Series 52), massively built factories in many European countries (Germany and occupied countries, including Poland) in 1942-1945, also known as German locomotive Kriegslokomotive war.
The purpose of this simplified, cheaper to manufacture and reliable locomotive was to operate rail routes in the territories acquired by the Third Reich in the east. Therefore, it locomotives in this series have excellent thermal and axle weight of no more than 15t, allowing them to navigate the lines with poor or temporarily repaired roads. After the defeat of the Third Reich 1207 locomotives of this series started work on Railway. In 1962 Poland due to the lack of locomotives has been forced to buy 220 machines from the Soviet. 200 of them have been incorporated into the station, and 20 purchased PMP PW Katowice. PKP locomotives renumbered Ty2-1208 to the 1407th Steam engines drove PW PMP numbers of German. From 1945 until the end of steam traction operation was the largest series of locomotives in Poland. 54 locomotives of this series are still in Poland today, including copies of the active in the Open Air Museum of rolling stock and railway equipment in Chabowka numbers Ty2-911 (major repair 20 July 2007) and the Ty2-953 (Ty2-953 in April 2006 underwent a major repair.) Locomotive Ty2-953 took part, among others in celebration of the 150th anniversary of railways in the Rybnik at October 1 2006 and the 150th anniversary of the station in Tarnów Mountains 17 June 2007. Both locomotives Ty2 with Skansen in Chabowka were the pride Parowozjady 2007, which was held on 28 July 2007 in Rabka Zaryte under the auspices of PKP Cargo.
Ty2 locomotive steam engine was very successful, had a very balanced traction features, practically did not exist in the phenomenon of depletion of the boiler, the run was fairly quiet, was the locomotive very versatile in application and well liked by the crew. He could not carry heavy trains, since it was originally not anticipated for such applications.
As is usual in the case of standard gauge locomotives, maximum tractive force of the machine is limited by its grip.
So it Ty2/42 developed during boot up. tractive force of just over 17 000 kg. Better grade of coal-burning could pull laden freight depots weighing 620 tons at a rate of 80 km / h or 1700 T - 50 km / h. In mountainous areas on the hill 20 o </ sup> Ltd. </ sub> such stores could pull, but with a mass 190 tons at 40 km / h.
Frequented the locomotive used to haul passenger configurations, and so once cars 2 and 3-axis may have a mass of 130 tons on a hill 25 o </ sup> Ltd. </ sub>, and the speed of such a composition could be 40 km / h.
